In the sacrament of baptism, a person is cleansed of all sin, reborn, and sanctified in Christ through water and the Holy Spirit. Repentance and baptism are the beginning of the Christian life (cf. Acts 2:37–38) and essential to Christian mission (Matt 28:19). The Catechism of the Catholic Church declares, “Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission” (CCC 1213–74).

WHEN ARE BAPTISMS PERFORMED?

• Baptisms are usually performed after our weekend Masses. Other arrangements may be made by contacting the parish office. 
• Our Weekend Mass times are:
  • Saturday (4:00 PM)
  • Sunday (8:00 AM & 10:00 AM)

BAPTISM PREPARATION CLASSES
The process of preparing for Baptism at St Jules has two parts: First, attend Baptism prep. Second, have a baptism prep follow up with Father Gregory
 our prep classes are held every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:00 PM for both parents and godparents.

• Please bring the birth certificate of the child you wish to baptize.
• Please bring Confirmation Certificate of the Godparents

        NOTE: GODPARENT REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS
            - Be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church
            - Regularly attend Mass on Sundays and days of obligation
            - Must be at least 16 years of age, understand the role he/she is assuming as a godparent, and have
              all Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation)
            - The Godparents must be a man and/or a woman: A couple who is married by the church, a couple
              who is not cohabiting (unmarried or only married civily), or two people who are not a couple that
              meet the above mentioned requirements

• After you have completed Baptism prep, a church representative will call you to set up a meeting with Father.
